About the Artist

Tessa Hall Duquette is a Virginia Beach mural artist specializing in large-scale custom murals for schools, businesses, residential properties, and community spaces. With over 40 public and private mural installations completed since 2022, her work transforms blank walls into vibrant, meaningful visual experiences rooted in place, color, and connection.

After earning her degree in Studio Art and English from the University of Vermont, Tessa relocated to coastal Virginia, where she built a full-time art practice centered on murals, plein air painting, and public art initiatives. Working throughout Virginia Beach and the surrounding Hampton Roads region, she collaborates closely with clients to design site-specific murals that reflect brand identity, school spirit, neighborhood culture, and coastal inspiration.

The Garage studio has since evolved into The Creative Well Arts Foundation, a nonprofit arts space in the ViBe Creative District. What began as my personal studio is now a vibrant gallery and classroom supporting artists, exhibitions, public art, and creative community programming throughout Virginia Beach.

Tessa Hall Duquette is electrifying the VB community one mural at a time. Her background includes a natural artistic ability, an art degree from the University of Vermont, and a love of creativity. From coastal flowers to seashells to oceanfront wildlife, she loves to capture the essence of beach living in order to make her Virginia Beach community that much brighter.

When she’s not (hard) at work painting a new mural, you can find Tessa riding her beach cruiser barefoot down the boardwalk, hosting a neighborhood porch party with her husband, or tie-dyeing with her three sons.
